Many businesses run Tally on one office PC. That works until someone needs the books from home, a second branch needs access, or the PC's disk fails. Moving Tally to a Windows VPS (a Windows server in the cloud) lets your team open the same company data over Remote Desktop from anywhere.
This post explains what you need and what it costs on DCORE Windows VPS.
What you need
- A Windows VPS with enough CPU and RAM for the number of people who will use Tally at the same time.
- Your Tally licence. You keep using your own licence. Check with your Tally partner which licence and subscription your setup needs for remote or multi-user access.
- Windows Server. When you configure a DCORE Windows VPS you can choose Windows Server 2022 Standard with the licence included at no extra charge.
- Remote Desktop for each user. Windows Server needs Remote Desktop Services licences when more than two people connect at once. Tell us your user count and we will include them in your quote. Software licences are not refundable once bought.
- A backup plan. On VPS plans you manage your own backups unless you add the off-site daily backup add-on (₹349/mo for 5 GB, +18% GST). For accounting data, add it, or set up your own regular exports.

Which size?

- Windows VPS-8 (4 vCPU, 8 GB) for a small accounts team or several company files.
- Windows VPS-16 or VPS-32 for larger teams, heavy reports, or Tally alongside other Windows software.
